A friend of mine is transgender and currently at a far stadium of her hormone treatment. She still has a penis, but she is a true girl. From the outside, the changes become more visible every day, but way before her transition, she was already a real lady. By the way she walks, talks, and dresses, she sets a living example of the definition feminine, up to a level which most of my other girlfriends including myself will never reach.

On Friday, November 13 I spent a long, tense night sheltered in my apartment with my roommate, following the news until early morning. Feelings of shock, disbelief and gripe were taking over my body and mind that night. Only a few miles from my home, an enormous tragedy had taken place at a place I often visit myself. These were places where my friends and I could have been going out that night. Young people like you and I have been brutally slaughtered on a night out in the town.

You don’t have to kiss many frogs before one turns into Prince Charming. Actually, Prince Charming often transforms into a frog the moment you two get down and dirty together. He seemed to be so perfect during the date, but the moment you get to it, Prince Charming suddenly has left the bedroom. A one-night stand is often a one-night stand for a reason. As 20-something singles, we may have sh*t loads of hook-up apps, but it’s still a major challenge to find people proper enough to mate with.

At 23, I was diagnosed with ADHD. This diagnosis helped me to understand, for the first time in my life, why I am more hyperactive, have less focus and behave extra impulsively, compared to “normal” people. Besides undergoing coaching and group sessions, I also received a prescription. After the diagnosis, my quality of life quickly improved. Adderall gave me a sense of responsibility, and a psychologist told me how to plan and organize my life with tips and tricks.

Millennials are a cursed, lost generation. We’re nothing but a bunch of spoiled narcissists. We do not want to deal with reality, and we’ll stay in the Neverland of partying until adulthood knocks on our doors. Ironically criticized for not being able to handle criticism, we all believe we’re unique, and life may disappoint us. But that’s where you are wrong.

It takes a lot of heart and massive balls to pursue your dreams. My dear friend Pavla will get hers chopped off in respond to her heart. We met about three years ago at famous La Perle (le Marais), when her name was still Pavel. Pavel grew up in Bulgaria, where her gay-sexuality wasn’t highly appreciated. Recently I got my faith back in the kindness of strangers, as you could read here in one of my former posts. In a modern world where people nowadays share their life-stories over Snapchat, instead of meeting up, I believe the WiFi connection is ruining our real ones and social media seems to make us incompetent at being actually social. As we got more independent, we also became more individualistic.

Call me naive, but I was sincerely wondering what happened when a guy I was dating,   from one day to another stopped contacting me. It wasn’t any serious,  relationship, but after sharing thoughts, believes, laughter and some more over a small amount of time, I did worry when I no longer  received his heads up. Did I offend him without knowing? Did he find out about the husband and 14 children I left behind in the Netherlands? Did his hidden wife return from her vacation?  

By now it must be clear, that I  have what you call ‘a thing’ for the French men. I dig their sensuality, charm and hot appearance. I love the fact that they are the complete opposite of the Dutch reliable, what you see is what get package, which is unfortunately often wrapped in dullness and predictability.

Stijl is niet te koop. Met een perfect gevulde inloopkast tot beschikking en een top styliste kan zelfs de meeste smakeloze persoon er als Femme fatale uitzien. Echte stijl koninginnen kunnen echter improviseren. Met zo weinig mogelijk middelen en onder barre omstandigheden, is het een ware kunst toch een ab-fab look te creëren. Waar ik normaliter graag een zon, zee strand vakantie mag boeken, ben ik dit jaar idem dito voor die zon, die zee en dat strand gegaan.

Dit weekend waren wij in Parijs. Als ware toeristen hebben we genoten van deze prachtige stad. Maar toch is die standaard route door een stad en langs de uitgekauwde bezienswaardigheden een beetje suf. Niet echt rebels om een selfie te nemen bij de Eifel toren. Daarom zijn wij hard aan het werk in allerlei grote steden leuke mensen om te dopen tot echte rebellen die ons kunnen helpen aan die écht leuke plekjes, feestjes en winkels. In Parijs hebben we zo een enorme topper gevonden.
